Target Audience:This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of rheumatologists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners involved in the care of patients with psoriatic disease.

Learning Objectives: After the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Define PsA under the Spondyloarthritis (SpA) umbrella and discuss ClASsification criteria for Psoriatic ARthritis (CASPAR)
  • Describe the detrimental effects of untreated PsA to emphasize the need for early diagnosis and treatment
  • Discuss comorbidities associated with psoriatic disease, including psychosocial and emotional aspects that affect quality of life (QoL), and recommend techniques to treat the "whole" patient
  • Review data on new and emerging therapies for PsA
  • Demonstrate strategies to incorporate diagnostic and treatment updates into clinical practice in order to tailor treatment to individual cases
  • Analyze the role of the dermatologist and the rheumatologist in the treatment of psoriatic disease and discuss how to integrate interdisciplinary collaboration into everyday clinical practice
